Dark ruby, with slight staining in the glass. A decadent nose of muddled blackberries, cocoa powder, toasted walnuts, anise, mace, cypress, black tea, and iron ore. Dark cherry, sandalwood, pencil lead, violets, and cocoa butter on the palate. Elegant tannins carry a spice-laden finish. Great with a wood-fired pizza, bistecca, or pasta with mushroom sugo.
