First you will notice its brilliant, ruby-red color. Aromas of dried peaches, plums, cherries, and liquorice hints mixed with spices, toasted wood, and vanilla fill the glass. On the palate, cranberry and prune so characteristic of Tempranillo mingle with toasted bread and vanilla notes from long barrel ageing. Broad flavors continue through a long finish, with a marked with minerality and acidity that indicate a well-balanced wine. This is a food wine, and will stand up to big flavors. A terrific wine for grilled and smoked foods, try it with a Texas-style brisket.
